The primary aim of the Trust is aligned to one of the United Nations’ eight Millennium Development Goals - Universal Education. This goal is to ensure that, by 2015, children everywhere will be able to complete a full course of primary schooling. The Trust will do this by supporting charities which facilitate young British people to travel overseas to either teach children or to help develop educational facilities in the poorest of developing countries.
Volunteers will receive full or partial funding for their overseas assignment through ‘Myles Robinson Bursaries’.We think that this is a fitting way to build on Myles’ work and experiences in Ghana. His time there gave him a huge amount of satisfaction.
The Trust has been set up under the Charities Aid Foundation umbrella (charity number 268369) and will work through existing charities. These organisations give volunteers the chance to make a worthwhile difference to the lives of others through projects overseas, while providing an unforgettable experience of adventurous travel, cultural exchange and personal development.
